2014 is the year of the project’s first scientific publication through the PhD thesis of Elisa Javar-Higginson. Furthermore the fourth Cabaré coordination meeting took place in The Dominican Republic in May.

Two project partners (IDIAF, INISAV) were hosted at CIRAD laboratories, in Guadeloupe and in Montpellier. CIRAD's scientists went to Cuba to study the impact of cropping black Sigatoka tolerant banana varieties on the fungus that causes the disease.

The third project coordination meeting was held in the Dominican Republic in December. Two missions have been undertook by the CIRAD and INISAV in Cuba and in The Dominican Republic. The first one focused on the risk of the banana streak virus (BSV) and the second one on the health status of FHIA 21 plantain hybrid.

Cabaré’s launch meeting took place in the Dominican Republic in March. It was followed by a second coordination meeting in Cuba on December 2011.
